Since its establishment in 1986, the firm has developed an international vision. Indeed, CMW was behind the creation of the Globalscope network in 1987, an international network of M&A consulting firms.

In 2008, Hervé Le Roy took over as CEO of CMW Corporate Finance. thereby incorporating CMW into the Externance Group, which he heads.

CMW was created almost thirty years ago by Claude Wolkowicz “W”. Claude is still a senior advisor of our company in association with Marlar International “M,” a global executive search network at the time managed in Paris by a third partner, Jean-Paul Cruchot “C”. Anthony Whittaker was running Mr Marlar’s M&A business in London and looking for a French business partner. After starting out as an entrepreneur in the textiles industry, Claude wanted to develop in France the new profession of mergers and acquisitions consulting for intermediate-sized companies and SMEs. His meeting with Jean-Paul resulted in the creation of CMW, much to everyone’s satisfaction.
